Twelve. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and the more she retraces his last steps, the more she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fiancé who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life.
A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it.

My Review :
I am so glad to have spent some time with Charley and her friends. In this book, she has to run away from twelve hell’s dogs, which want to rip her off. At the same time, she has to find her missing dad and find out what happened to three people who left suicide notes, all including the term “glorious”. This investigation will also reveal parts of Reyes’s past.
I found this book very good. It felt like watching a supernatural episode! But even if I feared for our poor Charley, I also wanted to shake her for being so careless…
With cutting the ”link” between her and Reyes, she’s taking dangerous risks, especially considered the dogs’ threat.
Further in these investigations, Charley realizes she’s got strong powers but she still has difficulties to believe it. She stays strong but with 'beep', we can feel she’s sometimes completely lost.
Charley’s humor is omnipresent. I laughed so much each time she spoke, as in the verbal sparring with her fiancé or her ex-bff Jessica!
New secondary protagonists appear here, as Och, a demon who reminds me of the trickster in SPN.
I also liked Jessica who is always trying to seduce Reyes but has a big heart as we can see in the bit about her nephew.
And as always, I really loved some of the secondary characters: Cookie of course, she’s so nice and has Charley’s back, Amber, Alex, Rocket, Garett.. all these people are really kind and helpful.
But I must confess that I have no such feelings for Reyes. Although I was totally hypnotized by him in the first book,, I found him bland here, especially compared to Charley’s explosive character, even when a journalist is sniffing around him and makes Charley completely jealous.
In conclusion, I had a great time with this book, Even if I had a bit of a slump near the middle of the book and if Reyes doesn’t have any effects on me. Charley discovers new powers at the same time as the reader learns more about demons and other supernatural aspects. I can’t wait to read the next books!
